Single-Use Bag Ban Pledge for Marin County Residents
I, the undersigned, support the Single-Use Bag Ban Ordinance which will come before the Marin County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday April 20, 2010. As a consumer, I understand that this ordinance will make it obligatory for me to bring my own bag when I shop. I understand and agree that this is an important step towards meeting our county’s crucial zero waste goals.
Ordinance: Over a period of months, retail stores will phase out their current practice of providing disposable paper or plastic carry-out bags to customers. Starting January 1, 2011, all carry-out bags dispensed by stores must be made of cloth, washable fabric or other durable, reusable materials.
